CSE 190: Introduction to Robotics Project

This project centers around the Inforce IFC6410 "DragonBoard" featuring the Snapdragon 600 processor. We will be using the Ubuntu-based Linaro Member Build of the Snapdragon 600 Linux Platform 14.05 release. This provides a desktop-like environment using Ubuntu and Gnome desktop.

These instructions are adapted from the Linaro release documents, which outlines various ways to configure the board. This tutorial will follow steps specific to our configuration.

Special thanks goes to Eric Lo from UCSD and Christopher Wingert from Qualcomm for their guidance with troubleshooting the board.

System Overview

In order to prepare this board, there are three images we need to configure and place on the board.

  • Boot Image: This is the kernel for the connection between the hardware and the operating system.
  • Firmware Image: This is the proprietary board-specific code.
  • Linaro Image: This is the linux Ubuntu-based OS that will provide the GUI.
